Thyroid Things You Need to Know

If you currently take thyroid medication but are still gaining weight and still have a variety of symptoms, there’s more you need to know. Fatigue, weight gain, depression, anxiety, rising cholesterol levels, inability to focus, thinning hair, digestive problems, abnormal blood pressure, reduced sex drive, and heart palpitations are only some of the symptoms.  We’ll discuss the 5 things that need to be measured, but usually aren’t; why the #1 thyroid replacement may not be helping you; foods that help or hinder; commonly misunderstood rules of how and when to take thyroid meds; environmental triggers and info you need to discuss with your doctor.

Stained Glass Keepsakes - Assemble Class November 12

Everyone is artistic! Enjoy this introductory class to stained glass but skilled glass workers are very welcome too! This semester we will offer two types of classes. One to cut and grind your glass into a piece you want to create, followed by a class to assemble. If you do not want to cut the glass, the 10/22 and 11/12 will have pieces ready to assemble, you can still participate. Have fun creating a keepsake that is for yourself, a family member, or a friend. This course is meant for all stained-glass skill levels. We will have pictures of pieces you can make such as Buffalo Bills buffalo, bees, flowers, ravens, dragonflies, etc. on the website or if you have an idea, you can share with Linda. Please note, each class date is a separate registration.

In this hands-on cook-along, you’ll learn how to create samosas from the ground up, starting with classic savory filling of seasoned potatoes and vegetables, and customizable aromatic spices and herbs. The real game-changer? You’ll master how to make your own paper-thin samosa wrappers using simple accessible ingredients—such a fun experience! We will also explore three different healthy alternative ways to cook your samosas—no deep-frying required. One cooking method involves using the air fryer! Holiday Cookie Workshop: Royal Icing & Bakery Black & White Cookies

Step into a sweet winter wonderland in this joyful holiday cookie workshop, where participants learn the foundations of decorating cookies with Royal Icing—now paired with a bakery-style favorite called Black-and-White Cookies—half-way between a cake and a cookie, and covered with glossy chocolate and vanilla ganache-style icing on top. If you’re looking to start a new holiday tradition and add a truly special cookie to your repertoire, this festive family-friendly class is for you. Gather your family for a fun baking experience or enjoy a little creative time for yourself. Participants will bake their own sugar cookies ahead of time so they are ready to decorate at the start of class. A PDF with two of the instructor’s personal sugar cookie recipes—one soft and chewy, one crisp—along with a full list of ingredients and supplies for Royal Icing will be provided roughly 5 days before class to allow time for shopping and baking. Choose to bake one or the other or both using cookie festive cutters of choice. Together we will bake the gourmet Black & White cookies, create Royal Icing with the proper consistency, and learn the foundations of decorating with it on our pre-made sugar cookies. No fancy equipment needed.
