Hall Walking

What better way to exercise than walking! Come walk with us in the halls of Barker Central School. Please wear comfortable clothing and good, comfortable walking shoes or sneakers. You may bring a water bottle, or water fountains are available. This exercise is designed for all ages and levels. Coat hooks are available by Room 161 near the art rooms with the skylights. 

If you bring your child to walk, they must be with you at all times.

Please note, adjustments to areas participants may be able to walk may change due to the ongoing capital project and events, such as plays and play rehearsals, being held on campus.  Look for updates online.

Hall walkers must be registered and sign-in each night at the High School south side entrance.

There is no hall walking days when school is closed, on holiday, or recess.  Hall walking is available to the community through the end of the school year.  Enjoy!!

Basketball

Join us for some competitive basketball for the recent and not-so-recent player on Mondays and Wednesdays. A congenial atmosphere is maintained to ensure that all participants have an enjoyable evening. No instruction will be provided.

Volleyball

Mixed volleyball on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all skill level players to participate in a fun environment so all have an enjoyable evening.

Family Swim

Family fun swim time on Mondays and Wednesday!  Family Swim must register each participant – one cost per family for family swim. Participants must be in the same household.

Parents must accompany students and stay in the pool area at all times.

No classes:  October 2, October 14, November 11

IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE -  ONLY ONE FAMILY MEMBER SHOULD REGISTER FOR THIS COURSE AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS IN THE HOUSEHOLD PARTICIPATING WILL BE LISTED IN A QUESTION AT CHECKOUT.

Lap Swim

Have some individual times and swim laps in a designated area on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Cost is per person.  If a student is participating, parents must accompany them at all times.

Water Aerobics

Calendar Jan 27, 2025 at 6:30 pm, runs for 8 weeks

Joy the group on Mondays and Wednesdays for a water aerobics class.  Beth will instruct participants through very low impact aerobic exercise that encourages cardiovascularfitness. Come firm and tone those muscles through water resistance workouts using rhythmic exercises put to music for you. Instructors are certified lifeguards. All workouts will be in the shallow end of the pool.  Class size is limited to 30 participants.

Stretch & Tone

New start date of January 28.

Join us on Tuesdays and Thursday as Trisha's class that focuses on stretching,joint movement, flexibility, and strength training.  All exercises are done standing or sitting in a chair.  There is no exercising on the floor. We have a good time socializing and exercising.  Trisha is a certified fitness instructor.

Body Sculpting

New start date of January 28th.

Join us on Tuesdays and Thursday for a fun and fast-paced class which will help you strengthen, tone and shape your body. Following the interval training concept, low impact movements are alternated with weight-bearing exercises to challenge and meet your fitness goals. You will need a mat and weights. Trisha is a certified and experienced fitness instructor
